Tēnā koutou katoa,
Epsom Normal Primary School has a long and proud history of serving the Epsom community and delivering inspirational learning for all our ākonga (learners). Furthermore, it is a leader in primary education at both a national and international level. I believe this success is due to our strong focus on four key learning priorities: inclusiveness, strength-based learning, creative and critical teaching, and future-focused education.
My vision for ENPS is for every student to leave our school with a deep love for learning and a strong sense of curiosity. As they grow and mature, I want them to become caring, creative citizens who are resilient, resourceful, and prepared to meet the expectations of the Futures.
He kaiwhakatika mōrearea au – I am a courageous problem solver
He tūrangawaewae tōku – I have a sense of belonging
He tangata manaaki, he tangata whakawhanaunga au – I am caring and inclusive
He ākonga motuhake au, he ākonga hihiri au – I am a confident and enthusiastic, independent learner
He kairangahau au, he auaha, he aroha nui ki te pono – I am a curious, creative, and critical truth-seeker
He kaitiaki au mō te ao – I am a responsible global citizen
It is important to me that all our students develop an awareness of social justice issues and have the skills and confidence to take action. To support our students in this, I am committed to ensuring all teachers are innovative, optimistic, and reflective practitioners who base their teaching and learning on current research and best practices.
We honour the bicultural foundations of Aotearoa New Zealand and uphold the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi—participation, protection, and partnership. All students at ENPS will have opportunities to acquire knowledge of te reo Māori and tikanga Māori, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of our shared heritage.
Ngā manaakitanga,
Ngā mihi nui
